Stores Worker

Responsibilities:

In this role you will operate a computerized materials management system by issuing and receiving parts, and goods associated with the maintenance of equipment and assets. You will enter and verify data in the computerized maintenance system and perform cycle counts of all inventory located in warehouses throughout the site, including Wabush Substation. You will perform warehousing duties, including but not limited to pick up, deliver, load and off-load material and equipment. You will operate trucks up to 5 ton capacity and forklifts up to 10 ton capacity and pick up, sort and deliver mail including bulletin board distribution, and prepare mailbags for air transport. You will also dispense gasoline and diesel fuel to company vehicles at the Service Depot and record all fuels dispensed and balance daily fuel reports which includes taking fuel measurements of storage tanks as required. You will offload bulk fuel as required and in accordance with standard operating procedures and environmental policies. You will also perform general housekeeping duties and all other duties as assigned.

You will be responsible for personal safety and that of co-workers by observing and promoting the Corporation’s Safety and Health Program. You will also be responsible for any environmental aspects of the job and performing work in an environmentally responsible manner.

Job Requirements:

High School graduation or equivalency and completion of an Inventory Management Program from a recognized school, which includes:

Two (2) introductory technical courses (Procurement, Logistics, Transportation or Operations Management) in Supply Chain Canada’s Supply Management Training (SMT) Program;

OR
Association of Supply Chain Management – Supply Chain Warehousing Certificate (formerly APICS, or PMAC Level 1); OR
Materials Handling & Management Society: “Materials Handling” (MM-1).

Prior training in Transportation of Dangerous Goods, both air and road transport would be an asset, and one (1) year experience in industrial warehousing. Shall have a thorough knowledge of all job related safety and operating regulations. Must possess a valid Class 5 driver’s licence with Air Brake endorsement.
