Deferral of 2020 Bargaining

The attached letter confirms our understanding that neither the Union nor Company serviced notice to bargain within the time period required under the Operations and Office & Support collective agreements between Nalcor Energy & IBEW 2351. The result is the existing collective agreements will roll over with a new expiration date of December 31, 2020.

2019 Scholarship Awarded

Every year, as per IBEW Local 2351 policy and procedures, a $1000.00 scholarship is awarded to a student attending post-secondary education. Applicants must be a child of members in good standing of IBEW Local 2351 or be in the graduating class of Eric G. Lambert School and be accepted into first year studies at a post-secondary institution.

A committee, consisting of three (3) members have independently reviewed and scored the applicant’s submissions. Benjamin Jacobs, son of Bernard Jacobs and Stacey Fowlow Jacobs, is the recipient of the IBEW Local 2351 Scholarship for 2019.  Congratulations Benjamin!

Renewals of ‘Letters Of Understanding’

Periodically, a situation arises which may not be covered under the collective agreement, and cannot wait for the next round of negotiation to be settled.  In these times, the company and union will work together to find a solution to the situation, and write language in the form of ‘Letters of Understanding’ (LOU).
